NEXT STEPS
We believe growing people change. Wherever you are in life, whatever is going on, you will always have a next step to take as you grow.
JOIN A GROUP
These are my people/Find a group:
Who are your people? We know it's important to be connected, but it's hard to build lasting friendships. What if taking one simple step changed everything?
At Eagles of Faith Ministry, we’re trying to make it easier for you to find people who share your interests. We know that when you get together with people and have fun, you’ll begin to grow into a strong community that serves and grows together.
What if you are one step away from saying, “These are my people”?
Lead A Group
You know as much as anybody that it's important to be connected. That's one reason you're part of Eagles of Faith Ministry.
We know it's hard to connect with others and build lasting friendships. We know that even defining community is tough because being in community is more than showing up for Bible study. It's also sharing food, laughing till it hurts, and doing what you love to do with your favorite people.
What if you could help more people find and enjoy that kind of laughing, caring, and growing community?

READING YOUR BIBLE
The Bible tells us the truth of who God is. If you want to know more about God and His promises, reading the Bible is your next step.
Just at least 1 hour A Day
You can spare that, right? Reading the Bible for just 1 hour a day can change the rest of your days. It will bring you hope, encouragement, guidance, and practical advice on the every day issues you’re facing. The Bible is relevant to everyone, everywhere, at any time.
All Scripture is God-breathed...
You can’t have a close relationship with someone you never talk to. It’s impossible. God’s word—the Bible—is the primary way He speaks to us. And it’s the absolute best way to discover how to follow Jesus on a daily basis. If you want to know more about God and His promises, reading the
Bible is your next step.
YOUR BIBLE APP VERSION
The Bible App allows you to read the Bible, share verses on social networks, bookmark your favorite passages, and more.
THREE COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT READING THE BIBLE
We’ve all had that moment. You committed to reading the Bible, but you have no idea where to start.
Maybe you got a few verses in, and you started tripping over words you’ve never seen, metaphors you didn’t understand, or lists that didn’t make sense. Maybe you’re wondering if you made a mistake, or you’re so overwhelmed you’re ready to give up.
God promises that His Word will not return void (Isaiah 55:10-11). You can do this, and the time you spend reading the Bible will not be in vain.
As we read the Bible, we learn where we came from and why we are here. We gain wisdom for how to live and understanding about what happens when we die. When you pick up the Bible and start reading, you may not understand everything but you will always- learn something.
Why Do We Read the Bible?
The Bible was written by God Himself through human beings (2 Peter 1:21). The Bible is God’s voice, and it is the primary way He chooses to speak to us. His written word gives us certainty about what God wants for our lives (2 Timothy 3:16-17), and it’s the only reliable way to learn who God is and what His character is like. The more we know God, the more we want to be like Him.
God sent His Son, Jesus, to Earth to pay for our sins because the cost was too much for us to bear on our own. John 1:1 says, “the Word (Jesus) was with God, and the Word was God.” Then, in John 1:14, the Bible says, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”
Just like we wouldn’t have relationships with our children or spouses without communicating with them, we can’t have a relationship with God without hearing from Him either. As we continue to read the Bible throughout our lives, our relationship with God grows, and we develop greater and greater trust in Him. We will know we can rely on Him as we obey His commands and seek His guidance in all areas of our lives.
WHERE DO I START?
You can start reading the Bible anywhere, but it might get confusing if you jump in randomly. The Bible is about Jesus. His name might not be found on every page, but the Bible can basically be broken into three parts centered around Him: life before, during, and after Jesus’ time on earth. Getting to know Jesus helps us see Him in the rest of the story.
The first half of the Bible, Genesis through Malachi, is called the Old Testament. It tells the story of life before Jesus and looks forward to His arrival on Earth. The second half, Matthew through Revelation, is called the New Testament and describes Jesus’ life, ministry, and mission.
The more we know God, the more we want to be like Him.
While Jesus lived on Earth, He had a group of close friends called disciples. Four of the disciples — Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John — recorded their accounts of Jesus’ life and teaching in the first four books of the New Testament. These four books are called the Gospels, and they are the best place to start reading the Bible.
What if I Don't Understand?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. You will come across words or phrases that don’t make sense at first.
If you have a personal relationship with Jesus, you have a personal relationship with the author of the Bible as well (Romans 10:13, 2 Timothy 3:16). Ask God to help you understand what you’re reading, and ask friends who’ve been following Jesus longer to help you understand.
Two Tips That Can Help:
1. Consider who these words were written to.
Some books of the Bible are written as history, others are letters to specific churches, and others are letters to specific people. Identifying the original audience of a book will help make things clearer.
2. Consider what kind of writing it is.
Not all writing is the same. You wouldn’t send a text message to a friend with the same writing style you would use to hand write a letter to your grandmother. In the same way, the authors of the Bible used different writing styles, like poetry, narrative, and prophecy.
The Bible isn’t meant to confuse you, but sometimes it does, and that’s OK. Keep reading. The more we read, the better we get to know God. And the better we get to know God, the more we understand what we’re reading.
Psalm 119, the longest chapter of any book in the Bible, describes how our appreciation for God and His Word increases as we read the Bible and do what it says:
“Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight” (Psalm 119:34-35).

SALVATION
Why Does Jesus Matter?
Every one of us struggles to find purpose, answers, and help. Some days we just want to keep our heads above water—take care of the kids, pay the bills, and make ends meet. We all want to feel we have what it takes.
But we also have deeper questions. Why am I here? Is this all there is? Who am I? What happens when I die?
Jesus matters because He came to answer our deepest questions. He came to give us purpose for living now and settle the question of where we'll spend eternity.
Jesus brings meaning to your life
God, the creator of the universe, has a plan for you and your life. He loves you and wants to help you because He made you—on purpose, with a purpose. He knows you need help. He knows you can’t do it on your own. That’s why He sent Jesus.
You don’t have to measure up to some impossible religious standard to know God—you can’t, only Jesus can. Jesus brings meaning and purpose to all the struggles you’re facing. You don’t have to be good enough, clean up your act, or follow some super-spiritual checklist.
Now What?
If you are ready to meet Jesus, pray this prayer:
"Dear Lord Jesus, I admit that I’ve fallen short. I’ve sinned and need your forgiveness. I believe that You lived, died and rose again so that I could be connected to God. I confess you as my Lord and commit my life to You. I give you my past, present and future. Take my life and use it. I give it to You. Amen."
If you prayed to meet Jesus, please let us know! If you have any questions, we want to help you take a next step. Stop by at Eagles of Faith Ministry this Sunday or fill out this quick form.
BAPTISM
Baptism is going public about your faith in Jesus and communicating to the world your heart-felt commitment to following Him. It's the next step after salvation.
Questions About Baptism?
People often have questions regarding baptism: Why should I be baptized? What if I’ve already been baptized—do I have to do it again? Does it matter if someone is sprinkled or dunked? Take a few minutes to read the bible on the book of John and find the answers about baptism.

EAGLES OF FAITH MISSION
How much of a difference can a week make? More than you think. We partnered with Mc Kay to share Jesus’ love with people around the world. Together, our churches are made a lasting impact in the communities we serve.
Around the world, children are growing up without parents, without a safe place to call home, and without an education. Eagles of Faith Missions gives these children hope and a future by supporting CYCC Mckay , a shelter at McKay.
By partnering with local orphanage homes, we’re able to participate in ministry that continues long after our team comes home. Jesus started one organization in His time on Earth—the local church. The local church is the hope of the world. And when we work together, we begin to see The Great Commission happening before our eyes:
You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." - Acts 1:8
Since partnering with McKay in 2016, Eagles of Faith/Mc Kay volunteers have participated in an orphanage home for boys and girls in Meyerton and seen hundreds of people ask Jesus into their lives.
But mission trips don’t just change the lives of those we serve. Mission trips change those who go as well. Seeing God at work around the world will expand your understanding of who He is and the power of His church.
