EAGLES OF FAITH MINISTRY WORSHIP
ABOUT OUR WORSHIP:
Our worship:
We strive to sing songs that are familiar to members and most of our visitors.
Is based on the Word of God and prayer. (1 Corinthians 4v20)
Power manifestation through worship and the Word being demonstrated by the Holy Spirit.
We simply lift our hearts to the Lord and encourage one another through our song service.
Our praise to God and encouragement to one another has a major role in all our worship services.
Our song service are found by many to be one of the most uplifting aspect of our worship
We begin with song, prepare our hearts for communion with song, look towards the lesson of the day with song, and conclude our services with song.
Paul gives encouragement to the early Christians to "speak to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with heart to the Lord" (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16).
Prayer:
We value the importance of prayer in our worship of God. There are several times throughout our services that we are led in prayer to keep our hearts in tune with God's presence.
Sermon:
The messages on Sunday morning are relevant to life today. You won't need to walk away from our church service trying to make sense of what the preacher said. We take the teachings of the Bible and turn them into challenges for daily living. Challenges that you'll understand, and challenges that will lead you to a deeper understanding and relationship with God.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A CHRISTIAN?
By definition a Christian is a repentant believer in Jesus Christ—the Son of God who came in the flesh, died, and was resurrected.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
—Galatians 5:22-24
The central theme of the New Testament is God's love for you as an individual. This love was revealed through Christ's coming into the world and living among men, his dying on the cross, and his rising from the dead. Through Christ's death God offers you forgiveness for your sins, and through his resurrection the promise of everlasting life. Christ died and rose again for the whole world, but for you to become a Christian is an individual matter. The only way to establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is to accept his offer of forgiveness and everlasting life. The following Scripture passages show God's part and yours. Read each verse and believe it, for it is the word of God speaking to you.
GOD'S LOVE IS REVEALED
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life"
—John 3:16
MAN IS SINFUL
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
—Romans 3:23
SIN HAS A PENALTY
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
—Romans 6:23
SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
—Ephesians 2:8,9
"But as many as received (Christ), to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.
John 1:12
RECEIVE CHRIST NOW
You can invite Jesus Christ into your life right now by praying to God something like the following:
Dear Lord,
I know that I am a sinner and that I need Your forgiveness. I believe that Christ died in my place to pay the penalty for my sin and that He rose from he dead. I now invite Jesus Christ to come in to life as my Savior. Thank you for making me Your child. Help me learn to please You in every part of my life.
PROMISES FROM THE WORD OF GOD
"For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
—Romans 10:13
If you just now received Christ by calling upon the name of the Lord in prayer, the following took place: your sins were forgiven (Colossians 1:14); you became a child of God (John 1:12); you were made heir to all of God's blessings (Romans 8:16-17); you now possess everlasting life (1 John 5:12-13).
You became a Christian the moment that you received Christ. Don't trust your feelings, for they will change; but take God at His Word and believe His promises. Review the above passages whenever doubts arise. You should be able to say with assurance," I have received Christ. On the authority of God's Word, I have eternal life."
May God grant you "all joy and peace in believing" (Romans 15:13)
ART AND BUSINESS FELLOWSHIP
Connect your faith to your work
We believe that our faith should be part of everything we do—especially our work. We were made to work, creating and cultivating culture to bring glory to God and to serve others. To support and help you implement your faith into your work, we’ve designed the Art and Business as Mission Fellowships. This program has two tracks—one for artists and one for entrepreneurs—and runs for the whole year, from January – December. It includes opportunities for development and networking, and applicants must be able to dedicate 15 hours a week to the fellowship. To apply please join our WhatsApp group (Eagles of Faith Ministry-0629524243).
Goals
-
Participate in the story of God’s Kingdom. We want our fellows to have a greater sense of the role of their vocation within the kingdom of God.
-
Appreciate a distinctly Christian approach to their work. We want our fellows to understand and appreciate how their faith influences and enriches their vocation.
-
Create something that will have a positive, meaningful impact on the church and city. We want our fellows to complete a tangible cultural artifact or business.
Opportunities
-
Workspace – We will look into finding or creating space where we will meet and get down to business.
-
Staff Retreat – Fellows will attend workshops. The goal is to help you develop self-awareness of your identity and brand based on your values, strengths and actions.
-
Mentorship – Different business people will meet with each fellow once a month to discuss the growth and development of their projects, and read some inspirational entrepreneural books: Fellows will also have opportunities to learn best practices from local artists/business people.
-
Art fellows will be encouraged to attend exhibitions and seminaries to showcase their talents.
-
Business fellows will participate in training sessions provided by different training institutions.
-
Who Is This For?
Though no one entering the fellowship will be in the exact same stage of life, ideal candidates will be on the cusp of their vocations, with both a need for spiritual and career development.
Art Track
For over 2 years, the Church was at the center of supporting the cultivation of the true, the good and the beautiful. Over the last few centuries, as beauty was relegated to the sidelines for pragmatic concerns, the Church has waned in her interest and investment in this important, God-exalting work. The Art as Mission Fellowship is our attempt to recover the Church’s role in commissioning and championing the arts and to strategically support “culture making” through artists here in Johannesburg.
Milestones for Art Fellows
-
Art for the Church – By the end of the first semester, we expect that the artist will have created one significant “piece” that could be used for the edification of our church. (e.g., installation at campus(es), video, story, performance, etc.)
-
Art from the Church – By the end of the second semester, we expect that the artist will be able to present their work to a collection of their peers, contemporaries and fellow citizens in a public form that is conducive to their medium (e.g., gallery, reading, recital, etc.).
Business Track
We believe that the kingdom of God is being built day by day and that Christians are empowered by the triune God to be priests and prophets, heralding the good news of Jesus and acting as ministers of reconciliation in culture. We also believe entrepreneurs are strategically positioned to have a unique multiplying effect on our cities. The Business as Mission Fellowship is our attempt to recognize the unique gospel-centered multiplication opportunity entrusted to entrepreneurs and intentionally invest in them as they seek to glorify God in their work.
Milestones for Business Fellows
-
Business for the City – By the end of the fellowship, we expect the entrepreneur to understand more about how their vocation uniquely serves the kingdom of God.
-
Share a completed business plan with at least five potential investors if an investment is needed.
-
Grow a business. If the entrepreneur joins the fellowship with revenue already coming into their business, the goal for the time would be to see revenue increased, even if it’s a small increase.
